The Cedar Valley LGBTQ+ Coalition is a grassroots community organization connecting, supporting, and empowering LGBTQ+ individuals, families, and allies across Black Hawk County, Cedar Falls, Waterloo, and the broader Cedar Valley through local events, direct advocacy, and a verified local resource directory.
- Affirming Mental Health & Healthcare Directory: Maintains a curated directory of verified, LGBTQ-affirming counselors, therapists, and medical practices across Cedar Falls and Waterloo.
- Community Gatherings & Events: Organizes inclusive social events, Pride activities, youth and family gatherings, and community meetups throughout the year.

IOWA TRANS MUTUAL AID FUND (ITMAF)
The Iowa Trans Mutual Aid Fund is a 100% community-funded, volunteer-run organization that awards direct micro-grants to trans, nonbinary, and gender-diverse Iowans to help cover gender-affirming care and transition costs.
- Medical & Prescriptions: Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT), doctor visits, and therapy co-pays.
- Surgical & Travel: Top surgery, bottom surgery, facial feminization surgery (FFS), laser hair removal, and travel costs to reach care.
- Daily Affirming Items: Binders, tucking garments, shapewear, and gender-affirming accessories.
- Legal & Administrative: Court filing fees and paperwork costs for legal name and gender marker changes.
UNITYPOINT CLINIC LGBTQ — PRAIRIE PARKWAY
A dedicated, affirming healthcare clinic in Cedar Falls designed to provide safe, welcoming primary and specialized care for the LGBTQ+ community. Clinical providers and clinic staff complete specialized Safe Zone training.

The Emma Goldman Clinic in Iowa City is a not-for-profit independent feminist health clinic founded in 1973, providing affirming, non-judgmental sexual and reproductive healthcare, gender-affirming care, and gynecological services.

There is zero charge for letter visits, and ongoing therapy is never required. When clinical criteria are met, your letter is sent the same day on official clinical letterhead. Telehealth across all of Iowa or in person in Cedar Falls.
